Sigh.
I don’t write for a living. I have a “career” that I am pleased to be a part of. I write because I enjoy it, and want to tell a story. I’m an older fan, so I recognize that my stories don’t always appeal to the masses. I’m okay with that. I don’t dwell too much on reviews or reader counts. But sometimes…
I’m not a big presence in fandom, and I generallly prefer that. I’m happy when my drabbles and ficlets get 30 notes (due primarily to reblogs). But when a fic I write has emotional depth and took many tumultuous hours to produce gets only 10 notes…
Sigh.
I’m just going to get on with my day and later, when I sit down to write for my hour-a-day, I’ll be fine. Because when I’m writing, I don’t think about who will read it or how many will read it—that’s where I’m content to just be and just write.
